An appeal from the Chairman of the Trustees, Professor Martin Ricketts
The Buckingham Summer Festival has been running for 25 years and it is regarded not merely
as good entertainment but serves a wider community purpose. The presence of top-flight musicians
provides an opportunity for local people to attend live performances at very reasonable prices
without the stresses, strains and expense of travel to London concert halls. It is also a successful
way of bringing classical music to local young people who may never have had the opportunity to hear
a professional piano recital or the rich sound of a full orchestra.
However the Trustees believe that the Festival requires greater financial stability if it is to continue as a reliable feature in Buckingham's annual calendar. We are therefore seeking a small group of about twenty "Personal Sponsors", typically people with a connection to the Town who love classical music, appreciate the value of the Festival as an important cultural event for Buckingham and want to help its development and secure its future.
Personal Sponsors contribute £250 annually (£400 for a couple) and thereby provide a predictable source of revenue that greatly facilitates the forward planning of Festival events. And, if you are a taxpayer, a subscription made under the Gift Aid scheme will give additional benefit to the Charity. Each Personal Sponsor receives a FREE Season Ticket (a pair of tickets for a couple) admitting you to all the week's events and an honourable mention in the Festival programme. We will also send you advance information in our newsletters and invitations to other events throughout the year.... with more music!
Let's ensure that the Festival continues for another 25 years with confidence!
